Contest prize for ~forgottenones for placing first on the Traditional Category on my contest.
Amanda told me I could draw whatever I wanted for her prize. I've always loved her tricorns so after browsing around her gallery, I found Kharva and I couldn't resist drawing her! She's so beautiful and gave me a nice excuse to draw another roan! This time a brown roan, something I had never drawn before.
I dare say I think I did a way better job this time, last time I drew roan horses I really wasn't too fond of them.
There's actually a little more brown on her silvery parts than the scanned image shows, but it's okay.
I'm really pleased with this one, although I had no inspiration for the background so I "borrowed" Amanda's idea from her drawing of Kharva, I hope you don't mind!
I was also going for that kind of misty day on which you can't see the horizon, so the sky and the ground seem to blend into each other, I like how it turned out.
I hope you like it, Amanda! And, once again, thank you for your patience! Sorry it took so long!

Ohhh the shading on the face is so deep and rich and three-dimensional. Have I ever confessed to you my love for how you draw muzzles? Well now I have. Ahh the mane looks so great and shiny and well-textured. I love the slight golden tone you used for the highlights!
