First of all, I must say that this was extremely difficult, I wish I could give prizes to everyone who entered, but I can't. But just know that I
So lets have some drumroll and here we go!
Traditional Category:
1st place
by This one really caught my eye since the very beginning. I loved how the color work really appealed for the viewer's attention and all the different contrasts you could find there. But probably what made me put this one in 1st place was the fact that, not always, the prettiest theme matched the prettiest side of the image.
2nd place
by A beautiful image with a fantastic choice of contrast themes behind it. I love the shading work, thought and the wonderful story Liz put on this one(although the story didn't get judged of course). The contrast themes are quite difficult to spot at first, but as you look deeper into the image, you'll find them all and I like it when things aren't too obvious.
3rd place
by The contrast themes chosen for this one were just awesome and the representation that Ashley did of them is nearly perfect. The composition of the image helps adding the right mood and setting for the intended contrast.
Digital category
1st place
by This one just had all that I was looking for. Kudos for the creativity! The themes are quite technical, but they're really different and their representation was wonderfully done.
2nd place
by The effort and detail put on this one is just mind blowing! And the themes really caught my attention, pretending to be something we're not, regardless of the reason. I love how even the background changes on the reflection, it gives a better setting to the idea of the image.
3rd place
by I really liked the ideas behind this one and I love how they are represented in the picture. Also the time and effort put by the artist on this really shows off.
I also decided to add 3 Honorable mentions: 2 for traditional and 1 for digital(since that one didn't have as many entries).
Honorable mentions
1-
by 2-
by 3-
by The people listed above will get a request from me of a fully detailed character of their choice with a simple one or two colored background.
I simply loved the contrast themes chosen for these entries but, unfortunately, they didn't place.
Don't forget that, if you want, your request prizes can be mailed to you! Even the Honorable Mention ones! It's up to you, I won't force anyone to give me their address XD
Thank you all SO much!
The original post:
The theme for this contest:
Those who have followed my works for a while know that I love contrast so what I want your entries to have is highly contrasty themes. Not only colors or shading, but the subjects themselves.
I'm providing two examples I did especially for this contest:

and

I used color contrast between Silver and Gold on the first example and the contrast between Body and Soul on the second(the pictures themselves turned out quiet contrasty but yours don't need to be that way).
So I want themes like Life and Death, Water and Fire, Light and Shadow, Good and Evil, etc. A world of oposites.
The rules:
-You must follow the theme for this contest(obviously...)
-The pictures have to be 100% yours, that means that I won't acept collabs, colored linearts and stuff of that sort. The only exception are photo manipulations, but you must provide links to the pictures you've used.
-Submit new works, not those you already have in your gallery.
-Your works MUST include animal characters. I'll be acepting equinish, wolfish and gryphonish(are these even words?) artworks. If you have your own species based on these animals, those count too(but I'd like you to provide some info about them in the description of your entry). And, of course, you can draw your own chars/fursonas/etc as long as they are from the species mentioned above or related to them(like unicorns and winged wolves). Centaurs are acepted too.
-I'll be acepting both digital and traditional works.
-You can enter up to 3 times, but only one of your works can win.
-NO stealing! If I find any stolen works entering, I'll rip your head off
-HAVE FUN!
How I'll be judging entries:
I'll be judging digital and traditional works separately.
You must follow all the rules of course.
I'll be judging for originality. Impress me! Find oposite themes that aren't usually spoken of and you'll earn more points. So try to avoid clichés(something I didn't do on my examples so I wouldn't ruin your ideas).
I'll be looking for creativity, right mood and setting, emotion and effort! This means you don't have to be the most awesome artist as long as you try hard(I'll be seeing this comparing your entry to the other works on your gallery).
You can draw any of my characters if you want, I'd sure be happy to see them around(but you don't have to of course
Prizes!:
This is the best part, isn't it?
For each category(digital and traditional) the winners will get:
1st place- 3 months sub and a request from me
2nd place- 1 month sub and a request from me
3rd place- a request from me
All requests will be full effort works, that means they'll be colored/shaded and have backgrounds(unless the requester doesn't want it that way). And, if any of the placers wants, they'll be mailed to them.
The winners will also be featured on my page for two months.
