He wanders from dimension to dimension, from timeline to timeline, from world to world. No destination, place or time is closed to him. Believed to have knowlegde as vast as the one carried by the deity of Time and Space itself, he trots aimlessly during his immortal life. He cannot be broken, his spirit belongs to all that has ever existed, exists and is bond to exist. But not all is what it seems and his violet eyes full of intelligence unveil a truth that he cannot escape, a burden that haunts him, the fact that he being able to see the Future is not always a blessing. Legend and Myth surround his name, pronounced by all creatures with respect, Pollux Fervidus Umbra(Fiery Shadow).
Remember the smexy chestnut stallion from [link] ? Well I told you I'd make him a character, couldn't resist! And now he's mine (you heard me Grace She tried to steal him from me [link] XD)
Random info about him: Pollux's named after a star, the 17th brightest star in the night sky actually, which I think is a orange-red giant and it's funny because I didn't know that until last night, when I finished this, and it suits him completely because he is a giant(as tall as Polaris [link]) and his coat color is a orange/red chetsnut type. Why Fiery Shadow? Well I actually had a dream with a chestnut horse that was called Shadow at the day when I decided to name him Pollux, I took it like if it was a sign or something XD Fervidus, well that doesn't need explaining *looks at his coat color* I wanted his name to be like Polaris'(latin), Polaris Audax Astrum, so it stayed Pollux Fervidus Umbra. I found out that Pollux is sometimes translated to "much wine" by some people, he's a drunk stallion No, not really, wine is red so there you have it(I know it can have other colors too, no need to say). He is based on an American Saddlebred horse, but isn't really one(he's some mixtures there like Throroughbred and blah).
Now, this work is full of symbolism. I'll help you with it: 1. You've a moon there, but no planet. 2. (this is easier for people that know a thing or two about contellations) Look at the star pattern and don't forget that Pollux is an actual star(see if you can find a bonus from another star named char of mine, it's not hard to know who ). 3. The colors of the two planets, remind you of someone? 4. Same goes to the colors on the path of light he's walking on. Can you guess what these mean?(if you don't know, but would like to, say it and I'll drop you a note)
Finally, the actual artist comment: OMG!!oneone11!! I'm SO proud of this work! My crayola black pencil is almost dead, I didn't use the Fabercastell one for obvious reasons, he's about half the size it had before I started this, but who cares!? It was worth it! I absolutely love this one. And my scanner did an awesome job scanning this one! I was so afraid that those rainbow colored line would appear because of the black but they didn't and it looks perfect! Just the same as the original.
*hugs Pollux* Myyyy preeeeciouuus
If you're still reading this then take this
March 2008(24th March ^^) Colored pencils and white pen(stars) Refs were used to get to the breed characteristics(American Saddlebred and Throroughbred ones).
t for record: I do know that the way I translated Polaris and Pollux's names to English is probably wrong and I actually think the words should be in the order of Astrum Audax and Umbra Fervidus, but I prefer the other way and I'm not worried with Latin gramatic here so no comments on that please.
O.O the coloring is brilliant! It's very smooth n glossy n shiny. Reminds me of a horsie I am working on... the first color-horse i have actually liked in forever (as far as my work goes). Anyway, this is very good, and I like all the symbolism... verra awesome!

I mostly use Faber Castell, but sometimes I use Ergo Soft from Staedtler(those were the ones I always used before I got Faber Castell) and Crayola(mostly for small details). I don't use watercolor pencils, just plain normal colored pencils.

Some people have been asking me about this stuff so I decided to gather all information in one single article on how to make your own portfolio, in a profesional and clean looking way. I hope it's useful, because these steps I myself take.
In this article I will provide you some ideas how you can build your own homestudio for considerably cheaper price than it would cost to use "official" studio gear. I will also show you few examples where I have used the gear I describe during this article.
DeviantArt is full of extremely well produced artistic fashion and fine art photographs. Make up. Styling. Creation of scenery. Story. Light. Glamour. A combination of these expressions sometimes make up a great photograph. But the protagonists of these pictures are usually female.
So... now it's the time for male models to come into focus.
`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
