Description
My first entry for Reldia's 264 Lila Breeding Art Contest.
So this is the first "complete" piece of artwork I've done in a while. Since October to be more exact. My folders are full of unfinished stuff I've started during that time, but I lost the muse to continue working on them. Hopefully this piece will be able to get all the rust off!
Some new stuff went on during the making of this one. I wanted to give my copic markers a serious try again (they refused to agree with me D: ), but since my color palet is very limited, I decided to make a traditional greyscale and color it digitally.
Unfortunately, one of the copics ran out (even though it hasn't been used all that much, kind of wondering why it did that so soon) and it set me back a bit, because I had to make everything darker to compensate.
Here's what the traditional part looks like, in case you're curious: Lily Lyrics Greyscale Tried a slightly different style for the lineart too, I think it fits Lila nicely (:
Then I jumped on SAI and did everything else
I'm really pleased with how this turned out, it's actually better than I expected, which doesn't happen often!
Also, so ridiculously happy with that robin that I have to throw a detail shot here: Lily Lyrics Robin
Hope you like it, Reldia! Now I'll see if I can finally get my colored pencils to agree with me again for that second entry
